Task 1

Diversity

The diversity in the life of the Indonesian people which is marked by its geographical location consisting of various islands from Sabang to Merauke is a gift that is rarely found in the world. This also shows that we as a nation that is committed to living in a pluralistic, harmonious, safe, comfortable and peaceful environment.

The diversity that exists in Indonesia is not only religion, ethnicity, culture but also the diversity of each region created such as traditional houses, languages, food and dance. One of the diversity that I take here is the diversity of my place of birth, West Sumatara.

In addition to the Gadang house which is the hallmark of the province of West Sumatra, the province is also famous for its culinary variety which has a taste that is so delicious and delicious. West Sumatra has a high level of culture.

One of the dances of West Sumatra is the Plate Dance. Plate dance is a traditional dance originating from the Minangkabau land precisely from the city of Solok, West Sumatra province. In the Minangkabau language this dance is often called the Plate Dance.

Because of its uniqueness, until now the Plate Dance performance is very popular in Indonesia. Besides local people, there are also many foreign tourists who admire this dance because of its unique.

● Plate Dance Function

This dance is often performed at traditional ceremonies, such as wedding ceremonies, circumcisions and appointment of the prince. Besides this dance is also staged when there are community members who are harvesting abundant agricultural produce. In ancient times only capable people could hold this dance performance.

Some ways that can be done by a member of the community, especially us as a young generation in supporting cultural preservation and helping to preserve local culture, including:

1.    Want to learn the culture, either just getting to know it or you can also practice it in our lives

2.    Participate if there are activities in the context of preserving culture

3.    Teaching that culture to the next generation so that it will not perish and survive

4.    Loving one's own culture without demeaning and insulting the culture of others

5.    Practicing the use of culture in daily life, for example, language culture

6.    Eliminating feelings of pride or shame with our culture

Explanation: The sentence above is incorrect (I). There must be the connector “desert, many”. The subject in the first clause is “the area” and the verb is “is”. And the second clause, the subject is “many plants” and the verb is “bloom”.
